The difference between life jacket and buoyancy vest

    in General Discussions

As we are the professional .The buoyancy ratings of flotation suits and life jackets are different. First of all, the buoyancy of the flotation suit is generally 50N. It does not straighten itself, but only lifts the nose and mouth out of the water.

The user must be aware of it. There are three buoyancy levels for life jackets, namely 100N life jackets: self-righting within 10 seconds, face up. 150N life jacket: Self-righting within 5 seconds, the user wears general bad weather clothing. 275N life jacket: Self-righting within 5 seconds, the user wears heavy protective clothing. Secondly, the flotation suit is not a life jacket. The flotation suit is a combination of a swimming suit and a lifebuoy.

This is a garment designed according to the principles of sports biomechanics. Putting on the flotation suit, people can lie flat on the water, which is a common tool for people to learn to swim and can practice swimming safely.

Life jackets are generally divided into: marine life jackets - suitable for lifesaving use by all kinds of personnel in ocean, coastal and inland rivers. The buoyancy of the life jacket is greater than 113N. After the life jacket is soaked in water for 24 hours, the buoyancy loss of the life jacket should be less than 5%. Marine life jackets - suitable for all kinds of people working in coastal and inland rivers. The buoyancy of the life jacket is greater than 75N. After the life jacket is soaked in water for 24 hours, the buoyancy loss of the life jacket should be less than 5%.

Leisure life jackets - some are also called water sports life jackets. The fabrics are mostly neoprene composite materials. Mainly suitable for water play, learning to swim, rafting, fishing, etc. to wear for life-saving protection.

Marine life jackets - most of them are marine life jackets. The interior is made of EVA foam material, which is compressed and 3D three-dimensionally molded, and its thickness is about 4 cm (the domestic production is 5-6 pieces of thin hair material, and the thickness is about 5-7 cm).

Life jackets produced in accordance with standard specifications have their buoyancy standards: generally 7.5 kg/24 hours for adults and 5 kg/24 hours for children, so as to ensure that the chest above the water surface.
